What is a carport?
A carport is a roofed structure for the protection of motor vehicles, this may include cars, vans, motor bikes and motor homes. The covered area protects against rain, wind, frost, snow, leaves, UV light (if the right roofing is used) and all variations of the unpredictable British weather. A car canopy can be fixed to connect the porch and doorway to the vehicle’s space, thus providing the added benefit of loading and unloading under cover; ideal when transporting shopping and small children to and from the house. Depending on the type of carport you want to get, carports can be made of aluminum panels with steel posts and use a high quality composite material known as GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) that allow long lasting properties and strength to weight properties. 123v can build domestic or commercial carports of any size, however a planning permission may be required if your carport project exceeds 50% of the area of land around your original house. More information to be found on https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/200130/common_projects
